The spirit

Our estate is located 20 minutes from the center of Tozeur, right in the middle of the ancient oasis of the Djerid capital. We’ve laid out the palm grove to make it easier to visit and discover the life of the oasis farmers. Native to the oasis, we and our team of date specialists will accompany you on this discovery full of ecological and botanical surprises. They’ll explain the specifics of oasis culture, the different varieties of dates and the virtues of this magical fruit.

We’ve got you covered…

Arrival at Eden Palm. Welcome and presentation of our experience.
We begin with a visit to the conservatory garden. Here, you’ll discover the palm tree in all its forms and the vegetation of the oasis. You’ll identify the main varieties of date palm with the help of a signage system that identifies and indicates the plants’ scientific names. The tour continues in the workshops, where palm leaves, palm stalks and wood take on astonishing shapes in the hands of the craftsmen. The diversity of products and the expression of craftsmen’s talent through technical demonstrations reveal many aspects of the oasis’ material culture. It’s a special time to meet the craftsmen and see their skill and creativity.

We continue with a visit to the tenant farmer’s hut to see the seasonal work in the oasis: maintenance and harvesting. You’ll also see how agricultural work is carried out (irrigation, tillage, palm maintenance, pollination, pruning and harvesting, etc.). During the date season, you can take part in the date harvest.

At the end of the tour, you’ll enjoy a unique moment to taste the variants we produce from our oasis.
