In the heart of Béja’s medina, enjoy a unique culinary and cultural experience. In our traditional Dar Khira house, we invite you on a gastronomic journey through the ages. Since the dawn of time, the Béja region has confirmed its agricultural vocation par excellence, known with the Romans as the granary of Rome, the water tower of Tunisia and the watershed of the Medjerda river. Discover the secrets of a heritage inherited from several civilizations, and enjoy moments of sharing in a friendly and joyful atmosphere.

The spirit

Since 2019, Dar Khira has been the home of heritage and local products. An authentic, traditional setting in the heart of Béja’s medina. It’s a family-run business where you can discover the gastronomy and know-how of the Béja region.

As a defender of the heritage of the medina and its region, within the framework of the Forum, I have initiated with my friends and colleagues several culinary cultural events, including the Gerbe d’Or festival, which takes place during the harvest period.

Welcome to our traditional Dar Khira house, in the heart of Beja’s medina. Presentation of the experience and discussion of Béja’s culinary heritage. I’ve got a day full of discoveries in store for you, as you explore the medina with its narrow streets, church, synagogue, mosque and kasbah, all places steeped in history. Our walk will be a great opportunity to meet the local population at the market or in the alleys.
