The program includes a tour of the Tozeur medina and palm grove, meetings with local craftsmen and farmers, traditional date picking and crushing (during date season) and a tasting session of local date varieties, as well as a traditional lunch menu.

The Tozeur oasis represents the life and meeting place of farmers, the bearers and guardians of age-old know-how and traditions. Their traditional know-how helps maintain the oasis ecosystem and culture. For one day, you’ll enjoy an authentic, immersive experience in their world. A unique moment of sharing where you’ll take part in picking and crushing (only during date season) or in daily activities, preparing picnics and lunch. You’ll enjoy your own production in a natural setting on Tunisia’s Saharan bangs. I invite you to enjoy an authentic ecological experience, far off the beaten track.

We’ve got you covered…

Arrival in Tozeur. Welcome and introduction to the day, before beginning your experience with a visit to the medina of Tozeur. It’s an opportunity to learn about the history and traditions of the local population. We continue with a visit to the artisans’ workshops. Here, you get even closer to the ancestral techniques and skills of these craftsmen.

We continue on to a palm grove where we meet a tenant farmer. A highlight of the experience. You’ll learn about date varieties, cultivation, care and preservation techniques, before enjoying an introductory tasting session of the date varieties available.

Lunch in the palm grove and free time.

End of experiment. Return to hotel.
